Personal data processing

An operation or set of operations related to personal data such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alternation, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making them available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction, regardless of the fact they are performed by automated or non-automated means. 

Examples of automated data processing – monitoring of persons by GPS or camera, verification of voice by voice biometrics.

Examples of non-automated data processing – written register of attendance in an arrival and departure book.
